    RPG's for PS2

I've tried games of all types, difficulties, and graphics, and i must say that Xenosaga is one of the best games the I have ever played. It has amazing graphics, aswell as an absorbing storyline. The fighting system is pretty good also. The one thing that i have to critisize this game about is it's stat system. It's a pain in the @$$ having to choose how to place your points(especially tech points, which you can use for your players' stats, or tech attacks). What are your thoughts?

Xenosaga is definitly one of the best RPGs ever. Xenogears is probably slightly better and it only being topped by FF6. Other than that it's all down hill. Still greatly enjoy Xenogears, it was the original Xenosaga but Square fired the section that came up with the ideas for it becuase it didn't sell as good as their FF games did. But then Xenosaga came out and they are very sorry lol.

Oh! And Legend of Dragoon is a great RPG too. NOt as good as XS, XG, or FF6, but still extremely fun.

I've read things about the Xenogears, but I've never actually seen or played them/it. It sounds intriguing, but whats the general storyline?

i liked ffx best; the graphics and storyline r never boring, the monsters never cease to vary and the landscapes and buldings r frequently colorful and picturesque

I've never liked the FFX series, I never could play through them except a small number. I'm not really patient, so if the game doesn't grab me at the very beginning and doesn't let go until the very end I don't like it. I got FFX for my PS2 and I played it for like 3 days, then I was so bored I said "Screw that".

FFVI was the only FF game i played through entirely because I liked the story and the game-system was pretty fun to play. I guess I'm just not much of an RPG fan, unless if it's an MMORPG which for some reason I love. So for me a good RPG on the PS2 would be FFXI (Stephen probably would disagree). Or call me crazy, but another good RPG is actually on the Gamecube (originally Dreamcast) Skies of Arcadia (Legends). Another of the few RPGs I played through entirely.

If you liked Xenosaga, you'll love Baten Kaitos for the GameCube, made by the same developement team.

Tales of Symphonia's a pretty good GC RPG as well. As for FFX, it was okay. Not that great. The PS final fantasies were better.

Tales of Symphonia is probably one of the better traditional RPG's for the GameCube. I was simply suggesting Baten Kaitos for the fact that it is made by the same people as the ones who did Xenosaga, Monoloth Games. Skies of Arcadia Legends is another great one as well.

Yeah well I still like N-Philes, but whatever.

I'm playing Baten Kaitos right now, great game, one of the better RPG's around.

Damn you blockbuster! I've been wanting to play baten kaitos for a long time now, but all blockbuster has is halo (4 whole stacks dedicated solely to halo 2), GT3 (3 stacks), and COD(one stack), no baten kaitos, and about two copies of metroid prime II. Stereotypical as hell. In fact, all the gamecube games it has take up one row of about five stacks.

That's why I never rent games, too much of hassle, and the game selection usually sucks.

It's because we live in America, home of the Ecksbawks. To every 15 Ecksbawks fans there is about 1 or 2 people with a Gamecube.

Xenosaga was a great RPG, haven't played Baten Kaitos yet but I've heard a lot of great things about it. Currently I'm into Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner for PS2 and Devil May Cry 2 from time to time. Also have GTA: SA but I haven't had time to play a whole lot of it.

Brother got Metriod Prime: Echoes for Christmas but I'm never willing to leave my computer long enough to go play it. That and he never seems to leave it... There are about 5 other games I wanna play on the GCN but once again, never willing to leave my computer (Still haven't beaten ToS...)

    Edit:

It starts off as a young man named Fei wakes up one day, the day of his Best friend's wedding (Happens to be to a girl that he's liked his whole life). You kinda walk around and talk to people for a while, then you head up to another good friend's house who lives out in the moutain (Citan) and hang with him for a while, after that you come back to town to find that it's covered in Gears (The large Mechs) that are after a certain Gear, you hop inside and kill them (Fei was trained in Martial Arts from a young age, so he's quite skilled). After the battle the town is in ruins and the villagers blame you and cast you out.

After that it goes onto just trying to survive day by day with those enemies still managing to come after you every 5 seconds. It's a game that cought and kept me the whole time, as long as you make it past that first part that is, very rare and hard to find though.

The Xbox to GameCube ratio is probably just your own expierence, around here everyone has an Xbox and GameCube, and literally no one has a PS2, which in the end seems odd seeing as how in the figures of sales the PS2 out numbers both the Xbox and GCN 6 to 1.
