Right, im totally new to halo, i played it yesterday multiplayer and im not going to say its bad. But it is a complete rip-off. Hmm duel guns *cough* Perfect Dark, Goldeneye *cough* and everything just seems so much like halflife, some weird things that remind me of snarks and other stuff, i did like some of the weapon animations thoughand graphically it is quite pleasing, but nothing really breakthrough.. But dont listen to me, i dont like the X-Box very much
ops:

I'm a hardcore Gamecube fan, but I really like Halo2, compared to the first, the Graphix are much better, It's not as groundbraking but it still pwns. I see how it is like Hl but there are alot of differences too. Plus, the warthog is teh leet.

This game isn't amazing. Yes, it's fun and it's good. However, it's not amazing. It's Halo 1 Part 2. It's an expansion pack for the first game. In my experience, the only ones who are creaming themselves over it are the fanboys, who don't want to admit that they got cheated. The four years of hype around this game made us expect so much more than what we got. Oh well, it's still fun to play.

Well, lets break it down and see which installment is teh leeter?
GFX: Easily one of many gamers top-priority, GFX can matter alot, Although I can respect the old school some games just push it to the max. In this case HAlo2 has better graphics, and on the same console to supercede the prequel by quite a bit is alot to deserve respect. Halo when it came out had better graphics for its time, so my vote for this section goes to halo, not for better graphics, but for best graphics from release point.
Engine: one of the best thing about a sequel is how the controll is handled compared to its prequels, but it can also be its demise. In my opinion, Halo had a much better engine. In Halo 2, the ghosts cannot strafe as fast, you cannot shoot while zooming with the pistol and banshee tricks just dont feel right. But in Halo 2, you can now double wield, you get an energy sword and you can jump MUCH higher. The engine is definatly different, but Halo had some easier controll, maybe not easy to beat but easy to handle.
Story: What can I say, the story of Halo is a legendary one indeed, oncce again, Halo had an excellent new story that build a sci fi revolution from the ground up wheras Halo2 just kind of piggybacked on what was happening. But Halo 2 feels much more like a movie, you even get to play as a covenat soilder! I havn't beeaten it yet but I have a feeling Halo2 will end wicked cool, thus taking my vote for this category, but as I have not beaten it, I am undecided.
Sound: what can I say, it is just about the same. But more big cutscenes usually takes the wind for sound so I would have to say Halo2.
Funness: For some reason Halo2 seems easier, and the less you die and have to redo means the more fun yo have (for me at least, I am glad we are past the 32 bit days where you played one level 100 times) and since Halo2 allows your shields to recharge so fast, plus many weapons are more powerfull, It seems to have quite a great "fun" factor. But halo, once again, it was first, it was groundbreaking and it was a helluva lot of fun. I would have to even out the vote for these, they are both a helluva lot of fun.
Culture: Halo. Period. Halo was ground-shattering. HAlo 2 pwns, and I rewally like it but when a game goes as good as halo, it is near impossible to beat the popularity with a sequel. Alll you can hope for is a satisfied audience and enough profits to keep making games.
Overall: Halo. It was the pinnacle of many gamers love. I never got crazy about it, I dont even own it but I really liked it and the effect it had on gamers everywhere was astounding. Halo 2 definatly pushes it but there are alot of things that bother me, little things, it is a great game but it doesnt exactly throw culture into a tailwhip like Halo did.
And I do not feel cheated, but then again I didn't buy it, a friend of mine did. Plus, I havn't beaten it. But even if it were a four year wait, that does not mean that we can supercede the graphical capabilities of today, just because it is popular doesn't mean that it is going to be ten years ahead of its time.
So, finally, I really enjoied playing them both, I try to appreciate all software reguardless of what system and I honestly think Halo2 is a game worth buying.
Plus, the Blood Gulch remake "coagulation" is better than the original only no tank![]()

Really? I actually thought there was nothing left for them to do in the game. I mean, so many things were integrated that no other game has done before! So, my question is: What was missing?Originally Posted by Wordsworth

The story was way too short and incredibly easy, there was nothing new (except dual-wielding....yay..), a new Warthog that is almost identical to the current one, a surprising lack of multiplayer maps, a lack of closure on the story, and a general feeling that this game is not a new title. It feels more like an expansion pack to the original Halo. Enemies aren't smarter or more skillful, there are just more of them with bigger weapons. That's a cop-out, and I'm disappointed.
This is a fun game, but I feel like they spent more of those 4 years playing the game than actually making it definitively different from Halo 1.

You make some good points, but I would like to agrue where you said that enemies aren't smarter or more skillfull. I dissagree, in Halo2, the covenat acctually hide behind pillars, and use some more advanced tactics, I think it has greatly improved. And I love teh way they freak out when a plasma grenade is stuck to them :pOriginally Posted by Wordsworth
Plus, even though there arent many multiplayer maps, they are still teh pwn, I think coagulation (blood gulch) has improved on the old one, already one of the best multiplayer maps on ANY game I have played.
Yoiu are right, it doesn't FEEL new, but then again, most sequels dont. It could be better, but in my eyes, it is still damn good, and worth the fifty bucks to buy it. I only wish I could play more of it.

WOW they actually hide!!?!?!Originally Posted by chordie leforge

EDIT : Ignore me, i thought i was in PC Gamingops:

LOL They DO hide, but there's one thing I noticed...if you throw a grenade at the Jackels, they don't jump away. In the first Halo, they practically left a trail of piss where they used to be to get away from teh grenade.
The one think I love about Halo 1/2, and I will never be turned on this subject, is what the enemies and your friends say. I mean, "Not again!!!" in Halo 1 was awsome, but an invisible Grunt saying "Hmrfh heh I'm invisible!" made me SHITZ MY PANTS!Even the Elites say stuff like "You talk, but bring it on!" and "Die deamon!" No more "Wort wort wort" crap...although, that was pretty funny...

I'd like all fans to go here now...NOW! This flashy is awsome.

My friend had like a convo with an invisible elite about the futility of war when he was playing on legendary. (it was all one-sided though on the side of the elite...MC dont talk)

its ok story mode was dissapointing i heard

gotta understand, Halo is a multiplayer game with a single player function if you're bored

Well you know that what you said is true. 8)Originally Posted by emeraldfalcon89

Yes I believe Halo 2 is the king of all games. Xbox was made for games like Halo. If Halo got rated on a television broadcast and didn't get a 5 out of 5, I would be furious.
