    Prices of games

i was inspired by the "expensive crap" thread to post this:

game prices are expensive...... (which is my point)

i hate having to pay 49.99 for a game that i might not even want (and renting sucks, because i'm lazy)

if i want a game, i should be able to get it for less than 1/2 a hundred dollars....

any comments? or are we all rich here except for me?

I see whre you come from, this is the reason I dont have 1000 games. But a cheaper alternative is the used games, usually they aren't too bad and sometimes if they dont work, you can bring them back. But I agree, it sucks paying htat much and whats worse is you bareley get any "trade-in" credit now adays. But look at it this way, software and hardware for that matter is becoming better and better, and it takes more money to produce, so, in order for a company to produce a profit that is more than what they paid, then they must charge you an arm, leg and venerial disease. If you produced a game that is simple i.e. pong or something, than you wouldnt need to charge too much because the production cost probably involves a pirated copy of visual basic and a half hr in your basement. granted at the time of pong, it was very advanced and costed much more so it had a bigger markup, but for now, pong is useless. So, the extra few bucks makes up in content, graphics and other important game factors. It sucks paying alot but thats how the economy works, dont like it? move to india. or get a nice comp and download emu games for free. or pirate real games. Or go to your loca blockbuster, rent a game and return a blank disc. whatev makes you happy and suppresses your gaming urge.
