Thought I should at least drop in and say hello! I don't know any of you yet but I'm hoping there are cool people around these parts.

Well go ahead and say some things about yourself so we can figure out if we like you or not!
What do you do in your free time?
Where are you from?
Any interests?
Welcome.

Well, I'm a bit of a gamer. Right now I'm playing Halo Reach, Dungeon Defenders and SWTOR. I used to do computer programming and was going to study it in college but I have moved away from that into music. I am learning guitar now and am going to study music theory and production. I serve in the US Navy and get out in 8 months.
Also, I'm want to be up front about this. I don't see any reason to hide it, I don't want it to cause major drama later. Im not a genetic female. I am transexual and in the process of transition. I hope you guys can be cool with that.
I used to work for a guy who was going through that shit. No big, to me at least. Good luck with the other members though.
can we see pictures?? Ive never encountered someone in your position who has been forthcoming enough to say so.
Do you have boobs? I am wildly curious about all this.
Also: Welcome to the forum, you may have already noticed this, but the forum is a fairly tight knit community and as such it takes a bit more on your part to become an active member. Read all of the stickies, post in the correct sections of the forum, edit your posts instead of double posting. If you are funny, intelligent, or otherwise interesting, you will likely find yourself getting upgraded to the full boards, where there is even more sections and shit.
What kind of music do you listen to? Have you travelled the world? What prompted your interest in reassigning your gender?
I'm working on learning guitar, however I am very self-conscious and refuse to get lessons with someone until I have a base understanding of how to play. Any recommendations? (youtube channels, programs, books, etc)

No worries.

So are you straight or gay?
Oh how I wish for another new member to join us in our tight community, but I fear, like many of the new members as of late, that posting mine wane significantly after a week or two.
NO.

Oh hey! You're interesting, and I hope you stay. I used to play acoustic guitar in my teens and loved it. Almost joined the Navy, too, but decided against it. Welcome!
My dairy-based frozen confection creates a focal point to which young males of the species are drawn. You are correct: it is far superior to yours. I could attempt to educate you on the finer points of this subject, but it would require monetary recompense on your part.
Oh wow! I did not expect so many people. Well. First off I do have pictures. Disclaimer though, I am still completely male. Everything you see is the power of makeup, a wig, and a stuffed bra. For now you could effectively consider me a cross dresser. http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...e/0fa2d717.jpg (fixed)
As far as what triggered my sudden interest, I've sort of always known that I was somehow different than other people. I just didn't know why I felt that way. The start of my journey was about 10 years ago when I first tried on makeup and got caught by my mother. After that I got very good at hiding thing, even from myself, but its really not something you can just ignore. I knew deep down that I should have been born a woman, and that fact would push its way through from time to time. About 2 months ago I came to the breaking point. I became obsessed in finding out what was "wrong" with me and started spending hours upon hours everyday doing research online. I became obsessed once it clicked in my head and that obsession turned to learning everything I could about being a woman. Not so obsessed now though. I still learn a lot everyday, but now I'm just taking a good pace and figuring out what road to take to the end of the journey.
Right now I'm basically seeing a therapist since current military policy would mean getting kicked out if I told them. Eventually I will get hormones and start making a change but not for another 8 months. Other than work, this isn't something I feel the need to hide. I'm not ashamed of who I am. I'm also a very blunt and honest person.
Thedoctor, as far as guitar learning I can't say there is any one good option. There are tons of ways to learn. YouTube Is awesome, I love watching videos of other aspiring guitarists. I find it is good for motivation. My favorite way to learn though is the game Rocksmith. Look it up if to haven't seen it before. I swear I went from pathetic to playing right along with whatever the game could throw at me in no time at all. It just took music and gave me something I could visualize. It is a great learning tool. Other than that practice your heart out. Play tabs you can find on the Internet and don't limit yourself to just music you like. Play outside your comfort level and you grow that much more.
Traveling.... Ive done quite a bit with the navy. Been to Spain, Croatia, Israel twice (oncd after we left they bombed the gaza strip), Bahrain, Oman, Crete, Turkey, Seychelles, Canada and did anti piracy ops on the coast of Somalia. Ive had some fun times in a lot of places but by far the coolest was getting to see Jerusalem. I'll have to see if I can find the pics sometime.
I also do a lot of writing, between articles for my cousins blog, poetry, and little bits for future book ideas. Been known to do photography from time to time as well, but not lately.
Also. Another pic. Sorry for the mirror pic, I don't have a lot.

Posted the same picture. You look better at it than my old boss, haha. He looks crazy. Whatev's though. Welcome to the board. Consider this my vote to get you in.
I don't consider this in the sense that you probably do. Just some food for thought. Conventional thought on this assumes that straight = "I like women", and gay = "I like men"
But what if the person in question knows for certain that they have a female mind? Does then straight = "I like men" and gay = "I like women"
Just some food for thought, and by the way, I'm bi to answer your question.
Awards:
I imagine straight/gay would fall in line with how you identify yourself. If you identify yourself as a straight female, then you are attracted to men.
Which raises the question, how do you identify yourself? Obviously you're still biologically male, but do you identify yourself as a female, or not?
Yes, I do. Female mind, male body.
I've really been wanting to try rocksmith... but it's 80$ and I just sold my xbox360.
:/
I already play but I could definitely use improvement. haha
Rilee do you want to hang out?

Sure man, though I'm pretty much as far as you can get from Cali.
