    Oh look Jaaykidd needs more help with data recovery.

    I recently had an external hard drive fail on me. No big deal it was just the enclosure. The external isn't all that important to me. But the data is. I decided to just shove the drive in my computer for extra storage in hopes that I can just copy the data over to my main drive. I spent ages trying to install the drive, initiating it, assigning a drive letter etc. I manage to get it all done. YAY let's go back up that data... no. It wants me to format the drive before I use it. So my question is. Is there any software or work arounds I can use to read the drive and get my data off it before I format it? I'd rather not have to pay for another external enclosure as cheap as they are. I just won't use it.
