Alright so this has always been one of my favorite games.

It came out a long time ago... the actual storyline game is hard to play and a bit annoying (if you die you have to start the entire level over).

My favorite part of this game is the game mode called 'Precinct Assault'

This mode allows you to run around and capture bases. You can spawn tanks or helicopters. The tanks will assault the enemy bases and eventually (if they survive) the main enemy base. The helicopters will fly a perimeter around your base and shoot down any invading tanks that show up.
To create tanks you need of course a tower. towers have turrets to protect them.

It's lots of fun. The computer A.I. plays well too and it also has a versus mode (though i've never really played against anyone).

The thing is... it's an old game, i no longer have any access to it... or at least at the moment. I'm looking for a new game just like it. All i really care about is the Precinct assault style of play.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Re check the OP and see if you know anything. Secondly is it possible to somehow download the game from a ps1 torrent and then convert it to my psp?
If it is please guide me in some step by step processes.

I have no idea if there are any better playstation emulators, but when I was like 12 this was the shit. I'm sure all of this could be... legally obtained... using the internet.

To play psx games on psp you need a few things.

First of all, you'll need a psp (duh) running custom firmware, none of this will work on an unmodded system.

Next you'll need an iso (disk image) file of the game, and software to convert it to a file format called eboot.

Then you need to go through some rigmarole moving files onto your psp, and voila!

You'll also need a memory stick that's at least 1g.

There are plenty of guides you can find (google) for this that will have links and stuff to where you can get the needed files for this.

I actually started looking around (It's been quite a while since I sold my psp) and it looks like the firmware I used to use is out of development. However CFW 6.60 seems to be a good choice, there are two versions, CFW and LCFW, depending on which model of psp you're using. There are ample forums and stuff, so you should be able to find guides and tutorials galore. Just read around psp.dashhacks.com/ has a lot of good information. the foums in particular, you should be able to find all the info there you need to get started.

Just gonna toss in the usual: Be careful and read everything thoroughly, then a second and maybe a third time, cause you don't wanna brick your device, or end up getting weird errors, etc.

I ended up just using a stupid psx emulator and putting it on my comp....
I always get so scared with the rooting stuff on my portables.

I'm pretty sure even to this day that the Crash Bandicoot games were some of the funnest games I've ever played.
