I'm trying to help out a friend having issues with her Mbox mini. Her line one channel comes through fuzzy when she uses it but other channels are fine. She thought it might have been her microphone but that got sent away and tested and no faults were found. Any suggestions?
The wire might need better shielding, the box may have a port going bad, etc...

How does one fix that / troubleshoot a bit more.
Try another wire into the port / try the mic in another port.
If another device sounds the same on the port usually used by the mic, the port is bad. If the mic sounds bad on a known good port, the mic/wire is bad. If a known good wire on the mic and a known good port fixes the problem, the old wire was bad. Otherwise, the mic is bad. If a known good mic works on the suspect port/wire, then the mic is bad.
