Re: What are you currently reading?

Great read, especially if you're into psychology and serial killers.

    Synopsis:
From legendary FBI profiler John Douglas and Mark Olshaker -- authors of the nonfiction international bestsellers "Mindhunter, Journey into Darkness, " and "Obsession" -- comes an unprecedented, insightful look at the root of all crime.Every crime is a mystery story with a motive at its heart. With the brilliant insight he brought to his renowned work inside the FBI's elite serial-crime unit, John Douglas pieces together motives behind violent sociopathic behavior. He not only takes us into the darkest recesses of the minds of arsonists, hijackers, bombers, poisoners, assassins, serial killers, and mass murderers, but also the seemingly ordinary people who suddenly kill their families or go on a rampage in the workplace.Douglas identifies the antisocial personality, showing surprising similarities and differences among various types of deadly offenders. He also tracks the progressive escalation of those criminals' sociopathic behavior. His analysis of such diverse killers as Lee Harvey Oswald, Theodore Kaczynski, and Timothy McVeigh is gripping, but more importantly, helps us learn how to anticipate potential violent behavior before it's too late....

Does it have a happy ending?

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We should take nothing for granted.".... Eisenhower farewell speech, 1961

Did you dump her because she recommended that book? Also, I'm reading a Christopher Moore book called The Stupidest Angel. I'm not posting a cover because I know I dont like this guy as an author, his writing is juvenile and I'm reading it because someone gave it to me as a gift.

    However, before that I read

Re: What are you currently reading?

I actually dumped her because she was a neurotic mess with the self esteem of Kurt Cobain and about as much fun to hang out with as current day Kurt Cobain. (this is me being bitter) she was a total sweetheart 90% of the time but she'd stop talking to me for days if I even hinted at her doing something wrong or that I didn't like but it was totally cool for her to throw out my smokes and booze and weed and edit out my friends and family.

I threw her shitty book out and I'm re reading The Soulforged by Margaret Weis

Just bought and started reading "Assholes Finish First." Loved "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" so I'm really excited to get through this one.

Re: What are you currently reading?

The Jungle, and I'm almost finished with it. Surprising how it's not really about the meat packing industry in full, as at least I myself have been led to believe in school. It's definitely a large theme, especially at first, and probably wasn't very exaggerated upon based on the viewpoints of the narrating main character. But the more it pans out it's revealed to be just about corruption in capitalism in general, with industry and politics coming up in particular rather frequently. The deeper the character gets, the more he finds out about what is really going on around him. Definitely a good read, takes a while if you really wanna sink in all of the implied points in Jurgis' slightly broken English translation to the reader, which there are a lot of. Took me a while to get through it.

    I give it an A.

This book fascinated me as a child and I just found it again, and I think it's worth the read.

My dairy-based frozen confection creates a focal point to which young males of the species are drawn. You are correct: it is far superior to yours. I could attempt to educate you on the finer points of this subject, but it would require monetary recompense on your part.
