I was all ready to start screaming, "GET A LOGITECH G15!! ITS GOT LCDZOMG" before I read "What is a mechanical keyboard?" which promptly told me to stfu.
The mechanical keys could be good, but I would have to try them to be completely convinced. The features lacking compared to Logitech's gaming keyboards would probably still stop me from purchasing it though. Hopefully Logitech takes notice and makes a mechanical keyboard.
I have Logitech keyboards. The LCD is over rated. Even worse you can't reprogram the keys. It's second rate compared to a Razer.

I have the G15. I programmed 3 memory sets of the G keys and use them all the time, and I always use the dedicated media keys. I also use the dedicated mute key and the windows button switch that is right on the keyboard, not some programmable extra. I use the LCD but it isn't really necessary while using 6 screens.
I don't know what keyboard you have but the Logitech G15 is not second rate to anything except the Logitech G19.
I've really stopped caring about keyboards with tons of shit on it. I'm saving up for a good, no frills mechanical.
