A/V Converter

Just wondering what you pplz use for an audio/video converter... I'd love to have just one that can do ogg, mp3, wma, wav, wmv, mpeg, avi and maybe Quicktime... I'd use google, but most of them are crap, and I don't want to go through a ****load of adware-infested programs to find a decent one.

Any ideas? I don't care about price...

I use ffmpeg, but if the command line isn't for you there's the Mencoder frontend (I don't like it, personally). This seems to be nice and simple.

The only thing FFMPEG occassionally ****s up on is .AVI files, they files are AVI-container compliant but Windows Media Player doesn't like playing them. There's a few guides on the internet for how to make ffmpeg spit out AVI's that WMP will place nice with. Otherwise go and get yourself on of the ImToo converters.

Don't search for "imtoo" (sans quotes) on PhazeDDL. Seriously, don't. It's illegal.

I certainly did not do that, nor did I suffer through Rapidshare to get it.

And by default, WMP can't play avi anyway... it associates itself with all sort of media files you can only play with downloaded codecs. Hence, I use amaroK.

mencoder here too. it beats the hell out of using the terminal.
