Before any of you carnivorous crazies jump me, just read the thing.

For the most part, it discredits popular arguments vegetarians use to convince other people to go vegetarian.

• Myth #1: Meat consumption contributes to famine and depletes the Earth's natural resources.
• Myth #2: Vitamin B12 can be obtained from plant sources.
• Myth #3: Our needs for vitamin D can be met by sunlight.
• Myth #4: The body's needs for vitamin A can be entirely obtained from plant foods.
• Myth #5: Meat-eating causes osteoporosis, kidney disease, heart disease, and cancer.
• Myth #6: Saturated fats and dietary cholesterol cause heart disease, atherosclerosis, and/or cancer, and low-fat, low-cholesterol diets are healthier for people.
• Myth #7: Vegetarians live longer and have more energy and endurance than meat-eaters.
• Myth #8: The "cave man" diet was low-fat and/or vegetarian. Humans evolved as vegetarians.
• Myth #9: Meat and saturated fat consumption have increased in the 20th century, with a corresponding increase in heart disease and cancer.
• Myth #10: Soy products are adequate substitutes for meat and dairy products.
• Myth #11: The human body is not designed for meat consumption.
• Myth #12: Eating animal flesh causes violent, aggressive behavior in humans.
• Myth #13: Animal products contain numerous, harmful toxins.
• Myth #14: Eating meat or animal products is less "spiritual" than eating only plant foods.
• Myth #15: Eating animal foods is inhumane.

I've been known to use #1...

Personally, I just enjoyed the way this was written. It came off as unbiased and cited sources, and made for an interesting, informative read. I expected a mind-dulling sermon on the benefits of eating meat and was pleasantly surprised instead. ^__^

My favourite bit had to be when biochemical individuality was addressed: "a diet that works for one may not work as well for someone else."
I've always acknowledged that my diet's not necessarily healthy, and that about sums up why.

I read it because the topic's relevant to my interests. If it isn't to yours, just... read it to throw it in the face of your veg friends or something.

Yeah, my friend tried to pull the "Eating animals is inhumane" and "Meat consumption contributes to famine and depletes the Earth's natural resources."
And I actually ____ing believed this bitch, of course I was like 14 and pretty uninformed about our world in general and meat kinda made my stomach upset. So, I tried the whole vegetarian thing out for literally a ____ing week. I started cutting things back into my life like saying I wouldn't eat meat...But poultry and seafood I could eat, just not beef. Then I realized how ____ing stupid that was.
I called my friend and told her she was full of ____.

I have a friend who's a vegetarian, but only because he was born into that lifestyle. His parents decided to raise him vegetarian and as a result is unable to digest meat properly. He sometimes wishes he could eat meat.
