Tried it, formatted, re-installed xp.
Found Vista failed on some games/proggy's and was highly annoying in almost every respect.

Oh some oldies, caeser 111, hidden and dangerous, rogue trooper, Diablo 11....................even company of heroes had a few errors for me. Although some did have vista support..........Tomb Raider for instance.

Try running them in compatibility mode for Windows XP. I almost guarantee that will work.
