Counter-Strike:Source = good?

i was wondering if anyone here had CS:source and wanted to tell me if it was worth spending 50 bux on or if i should just stick to my CS1.6. please give me all your feed back on the game. i want to know before i go out and buy it so i don't waste my ca$h.

Hmmmm, I never played CS much until source came along.

I bought an ATI vid card last year and got half life 2 for free, well because of allt he delays they gave me any everoyne else that had that deal the HL1 package including CS and all hte other mods, i played it a little bit. CS:Source is alot better as far as graphics obviously, but thats really the only improvment imo. But hey, it comes with HL2, pick up a copy of HL2 that game is definatly worth playing, all of the leetz0rz 1337sauce cs players arent gonna agree with this comment, but HLDM and HL2DM kicks CS and CS:S's ASS! thats right

Source has NOTHING new in terms of gameplay, its all new eye candy thats about it. Just buy HL2 and get source as well, you wont feel ripped off.

ANAL RAPE might just be the words to describe the game...

Source is fantastic. I think its great the way they managed to keep the same basic game engine (if it aint broke, dont fix it) and give it some fresh legs.

The guns are a LOT easier to shoot. Theres a lot less recoil (more realistic recoil) than the original. Its more action packed and runs a bit faster too.

However i like how raw the original is and thats where my loyalty lies. I only get 20fps on source anyway.

You've got to get it even just for HL2. Would be a sin not to get it.

well here's my situation... i only really want CS:S, i could care less for the half-life 2, it's just not my type of game. do you guys think it is still worth buying just for CS:S

And hell, the first time I played it, I TKed so many times...damnit, it's not as obvious anymore...I'll stick with my 1.5 LAN and 1.6 Online. :wink:

I never really enjoyed half life 2 much the graphics are so good they made a 2 minute job of a vehicle made of pipes the steering wheel doesn't even turn for fscks sake

if u are actually good at cs, u will hate cs:s.... cs:s annoys my ass because all u have to do is like buy a para and rush and u still have lminimum recoil and perfect accuracy and do maximum damage...

cs:s can burn in my opinion...

if u arent good at cs, and just want to play a game where it really takes very little skill to be good, then cs:s is a good eye candy alternative

but until they make it harder i wont play it

CounterStrike: Source will spawn a completely new type of player from CS. In actual fact its harder than the normal CS in that its Faster. A hell of a lot Faster. You run faster, practically all the guns fire faster, you strafe faster, even some of the guns reload faster. You have to adapt to this, this means even faster, more accurate aiming. Some of the guns are also different to fire, for instance, i just single shoot the AK (rather than a delayed-3 round burst), and for the Defender you do a sort of rapid two round burst which gets a headshot a lot(Source Defender is one of my new favourite weapons). Also the dual elites are sooo much more powerful (although they look and animate shit).

The players do run in a really odd manner (yeah they do kinda look like monkeys, all stooped down, but thats because they're trying to make their bodies smaller in a fire fight, and its gives a vague sensation of apprehension i reckon). The one thing that really does tick me off about Source is that the guns look like baby versions of the normal CS guns (apart from the UMP though, its more chunky now for some reason :P). The glock for instance just looks ridiculous, as does the twig like awp. However all these will be reskinned by people in the CS:S community eventually, so its not a major problem.

And as for people slagging off HL2!!!! Thats just wrong man.... OK one thing i didn't like is that you couldn't drive those Tanks... and you didn't get to go against those organic tanks you glimpse in the end level, oh and that Hydra creature in the demos??? but i'm banking on the fact that there's gonna be an expansion pack where you'll play as a combine solider sent against the Antlions, where you'll drive the Tank; and see those organic tanks in action....

the only good thing are the graphics, the ct and ter are just walking idiots the guns looks like toys from my brother of 7.
the pro's gamers realy dislikes the game. asswell as i.
even noobs can kill you without even learning to shoot with weapons because it is just spray and kill.
this game realy destroyed what cs1.6 build up.
but good news to all 1.6 favos an individual team of pro gamers (cpl leageu) and modelers... are making a pro version on the source engine with same models and skins as 1.6 same recoil evrything the same except de graphics of the maps, and probably some new maps as well.
source sucks 1.6 owns.
better buy 1.6 guys then you can feel the real cs fibe.

I mean, in HL1, your enemies are the Marines and the Aliens. In HL2, your enemies are the Combine and the Aliens.

HL opposing force let you play as a Marine. So the expansion pack for HL2 would let you play as the Combine?

cs source is pretty nice. i like the money "cheat" if your low on cash thgen you can change to spec then back to w/e you want and you get another 800. yeah i like it i havent played in days and i hear that those new bots are good.

The bots are alright, I personally enjoy both games and don't consider one better than the other...
