I'm Going to get one. It really depends if your into Nintendo gaming, If you like 3rd party games and more killing and violent set type games then just wait for the psp. I plane on getting both but I am a big Nintendo fan myself. :D

The DS is so much better. You can give it voice commands and it has a touch screen.

i'm not a handheld kind of guy, i like big consoles with lost of power. but i went into my local game store the other day, and saw the DS, and i was pleasantly impressed, so i believe i may be getting one.

I hear that the psp will have amazing graphics and that sony's going to make a new final fantasy game for it, but the console is going to be very expensive, so i would wait until it comes out to see if u can afford both systems. The final fantasy may not come out on any other system, so i would take that into account too (tho u can always get an emulator).

Ive played the DS at walmart once... the graphics are nothing but amazing! i think i played some metroid game... but the thing about it is with FPS they have dual analog... its weird because it was always in-versed view... hard to adjust. but i haven't heard much about the PSP... but the DS has so many extras added onto it i would get it.

Ds i bought for $249.74 (~129.81 GBP) thats
1
Nintendo DS 110V [with $20 Coupon] (For Nintendo DS / Japanese)
$169.90 (~88.31 GBP)
1
USB Recharger Cable (For Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance SP?)
$4.95 (~2.57 GBP)
1
Multivolt AC Adapter [UK] (For Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance SP?)
$4.99 (~2.59 GBP)
1
Super Mario 64 DS (For Nintendo DS / US)
$39.90 (~20.74 GBP)
This is a good deal so if you buy it retail your looking at a few dollars more...
The Psp is currently totally sold out in Japan where its avaiable, Ds is totally sold out everywhere but Japan(online anyway, since its not out here in UK until march)
A good friend of mine bought a PSP for ?370 this is roughly $700? maybe $710... something around there, which is more than double a ds. Obviously he bought it online along time before it comes out over here but still, its a lot of money to be paying.

when i went to buy a DS they were sold out at most stores and had only 3 left at best buy. DS has some features that make you feel like you are playing with your own little laptop rather than a "gameboy". It has internal rechargable batteries, it comes with an AC adapter, and the graphics can be amazing. It is definitely a very amusing and interesting item, and for half the price of the PSP, the DS wins in my opinion.

I have a DS. To tell the truth, I wish I just waited till some more games came out for it. But its still a good system. Mario is good, and so is that Metroid Hunter demo.

DS is released here in the UK on the 11th of march..
I got mine on the 2nd of Jan... its great.... so much fun with friends.. as most nintendo consoles are... but if your soley going on graphics then psp blows ds out of the water. But the ds offers revolutionary gameplay via the touch screen and microphone. My friend has recently got his hand son the japanese version of wario ware... its truely amazing, there are such tasks you have to do like blow dust f stuff in the mini games you do this by blowing into the microphone.. its great :D

The error would be the faulty square button. They made the LCD screen so large that it interfers with the wire that connects to the button. It's pulled in at an angle and can cause the button to stick and/or not work. I read about this a coupel of weeks ago. The worst part about it is the Sony PSP exectuative person refuses to apologizing saying that is was an "acceptable risk". Supposedly they did not want to decrease the size of the LCD screen or increase the size of the PSP. He says they deliberately left the device as it was and went on to rant about how great it is. Arrogant ass.
Back on topic, I haven't really enjoyed the DS at all. I played my friends, and several at Gamestop and what not. I just don't care for it. The Dual Screen is an incredibly creative idea, I'll give um that, but I just don't enjoy using it or playing the games.

UPDATE: I picked up a DS on Friday, together with Mario 64 DS and Zookeeper (a 'Bejeweled'-type puzzle game).
My wife, my son and myself are all fighting over who gets to use it. It's an amazing gadget.
ps. The mini games alone are worth the price of Mario 64 DS.
