Overated Games

hmm, overratted..... probably mechassault.... because everyone gave it a ten on their site, but tbh, i hate it, and it needs to die.... in fact, if it was a person, i'd personally kick it in the face!

Most likely... Halo. I know what everybody is about to say and stuff I know Halo is a great game. The ONLY FPS I've ever liked. However even for being a great game to get SO MUCH freakin' shit is way to much. I mean I'll just be sitting at lunch and randomly people will start talking about it. Can't go a few minutes without Cody talking about it and other people are obsessed as well.

Just FYI don't flame me for this, please. I love Halo. It's a great game but I mean to play it 5 hours every day (Yes I know people that do that) and talk about it as if it's -THE- single best game ever created and talk about it every day... that's WAY to much.

And if Halo doesn't count (Even though I just went on about it) then um... FFXI. I played it and it was fun for a month, after that the game sucks. As do all other MMORPGs (Excluding PSO becuase that was a 4 person sever game and is STILL fun) I've played.

Yeah, most often when I see a game that gets a little too much hype, it is just what Hacky says, its an awesome game, perhaps one of the best but it gets waaaay to much credit.
CS kicks ass, I havn't played much but I think it was awesome. I know people who barricade themselves in their rooms all day and when they are forced to be socially active, all they can talk about is CS. Maybe I havnt played enough to be obsessed, but my friends talk about, and play it too damn much for their own good, and keep in mind this is coming from me, the person who played so much Tony Hawk he made himself sick. Dont get me wrong, CS is an awesome game, but it is looking at a birthday of more than enough years to still make people so obsessed and crazy. Old games are awesome, CS is awesome. But it is not Godly as many would belive. Get a grip, but a goldfish, make some friends, step away from the LAN.

i remember back in middle school, where evyeryone talked about diablo...... i hate that game with a passion now that it's been talked about so much...... diablo one AND 2 are both horrible

Yeah, Diablo is definitely overrated. But, it doesn't look like a bad game.

I think the Grand Theft Auto series is too over-rated. Now, this comes from someone who doesn't like those type of games, mindless killing isn't my thing. But yeah... That's about it, and maybe Knights of the Old Republic. The game doesnt look all that great, and I don't see why everyone loves it.

I personally don't think Halo is over-rated. It's getting the recognition it deserves. As being one of the greatest FPSs of all time, but it IS over obsessed about. I love Halo but I try to bring it up as least often as I can because I don't want to be too repetative.

I tink mabe Kenshin is being sarastic. Sure GTA 1-3 were not cream but VC was supreme with bacon and real tomatoes not cheap paste.

Halo Multeye-player is very excellent but I found de Singl3 player shiteulellent. WEapons were unimpressive and aliens predictable and wall tiles art -- stale.

I think Doom 3 let me down...every bloody level is the same thing. It's like playing the "Guilty Spark" level in Halo over and over again. (Hahaha Doom 1 pwns :P)

The main thing I like about Halo is how high you can fly when you blow up like 7 grenades while yer in the Warthog. Fun times...get's linear eventually but I dunt care. As long as Grunts scream and run into another group of 'em with a plasma grenade on their ass, it's fine by me. :lol:

I'm liking Oni right 'bout now. Think I'll go play it.

When it somes to Doom 3, it doesn't have a plot or any puzzles to get in the way. It does get tideous at times but it has a great engine, awesome graphics and it is uber scary. I guess some people really like the way it is just shoot and kill, and others cant stand it. Myself, I think it is a great game that pushes the limits of videogames everywhere, it could use some improvments but it is still awesome.

But, as of now, it is a PC game, so lets keep Doom out of the c0n5013 board.

I think it's over rated also but still very fun. A great Final Fantasy game (Godly comparied to everything after it, but bad compaired to 6), but not the best as I know a lot of people try to make it seem. Vincent is still and always will be my favorite character or all. He owns lol.

The sims has to be the most over rated game.... The sims 1 was great! But then they made half a million and one expansions. Then they talked about taking it online. AND THEY DID!!! Then there was the part where you could buy new furniture online for it. Waaaaayyyy to over rated....

Halo ain't that bad...I mean, if you read the novels then the game has a whole new meaning to you. If not, then I guess you may think it's crap...

I still enjoy playing it, despite criticism and crappy levels, and love blowing Grunts to high-hell. Halo wasn't overrated...it just became that the moment it went on for 5 months...and since it was a best-seller, it pwned all. Now I am sayint that IMHO, it is my favorit game to play...it makes CS look kinda dull. :o

Sooo overrated? I'll agree with Avarik and say Teh Sims since I hate it sooooo much and can't see what the big fuss is about.

I obsess over Halo just because it's so easy to obsess over. I think it's over-obsessed over though. ppl think im the deepest Halo fan but I have many things Id rather do and i gotta remind people that sometimes. Then again i havent played Halo 2 yet...so i might start really obsessing about that.

Over rated game, hmmmmmmmm, well i think that sports games are pretty overrated, they have no creativity, theyre just the rules of the game, you cant have as much of a free reign as you do in a bunch of ohter games
