Whoa whoa whoa, not sure if anyone knows about this yet (I know Hacky does, sorry I just have to post this). Ok, well this is some scary shit. Well when Bungie showed it's Halo 2 trailer they always have to put the "X-box" logo at the end, and under the logo they have "xbox.com" but for a second "xbox.com" flashed "ilovebees.com" Now, go to ilovebees.com (Link below)
http://www.ilovebees.com
It seems to be hijacked, and it has a timer for.... Something, no one knows yet. If you go around and view the source of the pages you can tell it's all just random babbling. But I was interested in all of this, so I started googling it and I found this site:
http://www.evilavatar.com/modules.phpop=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=5313
There they have a lot of intriguing comments, including this one by Worldcrafter:
"Actually, it seems to be the sequal to an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that was called "The Beast". The game was in the vein of Majestic where it was played as if real and was developed by, get this, some guys at Microsoft. Here is some info: http://www.seanstewart.org/beast/intro/
Apparently it has been rumored that a sequal was in the works going by the name "The Hive" and it seems the now surfaced www.ilovebees.com oddity may in fact be the start of the new game. This would explain why it was in the Halo 2 trailer. Since Microsoft had a hand in producing the trailer they may have thought this was the perfect place to let the public know about the new game. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=78&sid=
This forum has a lot of discussion and info gleaned from the now famous site. There are some weird things there. My favorite is the text hidden in the images. When you see an image that is corrupt looking, save it as a text file and open it. It will have a few lines of english among all the random ASCII. "
I must say, it's genius. Now googling EVEN MORE you find a site where someone decifred the whole message! (These people are CRAZY):
http://bees.netninja.com/wiki/index.php?title=Story
Now that's something interesting. This is both the place to dwell on the subject, or to submit information on it. I don't like Halo 2, but I think this doesn't have to do with Halo at all and might be something totally knew like another one of those alternate reality game type things.... Crazy, I tell you, crazy.
::EDIT:: I did some more researching and found out that this is, in fact, a Alternate Reality game. At http://www.ARGN.com the latest news update says this:
"Ilovebees-
Well, the ilovebees puppetmasters are nothing if not prompt. Once their countdown to metastasizing was complete, ilovebees.com updated at 9am Pacific on Tuesday the 10th, marking the beginning of Phase 3. The site now contained a lot of embedded HTML text, embedded text in images, some new creepy sounds and a list of 220 coordinates.
The text, when defragmented, continues to reveal more and more about the AI (Melissa) and her origins, in addition to captured conversation from the ship she was apparently installed on. It seems that now Melissa is trying to find a way to break out of her box and become "wide awake and physical." What this means, nobody knows, but it seems she's making progress.
The sound files reveal a changeling child, which seems to be her finding her voice and trying it out. Now it seems she's determined to transmit something to 220 discreet locations in the U.S., and by the looks of the timer, it seems that this will occur on Tuesday, August 24th, at 6:07 am local time, when the timer indicates Melissa will become "wide awake and physical."
The jury's still out on what this all means. Players aren't sure if this indicates that some realworld event is going to happen all over the country, or if it's just a puzzle of some kind that needs to be solved. Either way, you can bet countless ARG'ers will be showing up in the wee hours of the morning at the various locales, looking for geocaches or waiting for dancing robots in bee costumes. There's no telling what might happen, so feel free to join in, and bring your camera! We'll post the best pics here, if you send them in."
Now that's interesting, I wonder what's going to happen. I personally think it might be linked to Halo 2. Bungie.net has a 308 page forum thread about this, didn't read all of it but they have some interesting ideas...
