SNES all the way for me, I downloaded an Emulator and 750 Roms off of www.Suprnova.org there are some seriously great games.

Suprnova requires that you have some version of BitTorrent though, I sugest getting BitTornado The Shadow expirmental version.

im going with Zero-Wing on that one (as far as sega game)

if you dont know the story, it was basically because sega was too cheap, so they hired a japanese guy taking part time english classess to do the translation...

De Megadrive (Genesis) da explode-o bomb. Phatasy Star 4 and Altered Beast and Marble madness and Golden Axe. Use Genecyst emu.

RAINE ? whatever it's called emu for arcade is good with the more fighting games. "1942" with the aeroplanes yeah.

zSNES for when u play super Mario brothers/world.

Genesis and SNES were awesome but you have to enjoy the simplicity of atari, I mean it acctually had switches on the console for diffuculty and game select... Pure 1337n355 in its truest form.
but it all comes down to the software, so best game evah old school: SMB3.
http://media.ebaumsworld.com/index.php?e=moSMB3.wmv
there has been some concern about cheating with an emulator, He asmits to slowing down the second cannon level to make it look flashy but he still kicks ass anyway. check it out.

Lets not forget the Sega Master System ! or the Turbo Grafx16!

imported_chordie leforge
July 20th, 2004, 04:02 PM
Those were good, but nothing was as ground shattering as the NES or SNES.

imported_Anonymous
July 21st, 2004, 12:05 AM
Yeah , and not to mention the Turbo Grafx 16 was a deceiving system , it claimed to play 16bit games (hence the name) instead they had two 8 bit processors instead of one 16bit processor so it couldnt really play 16bit games.

imported_chordie leforge
July 21st, 2004, 12:55 AM
That I never knew, Seems it wasn't as great as it claimed to be. All the more reason to worship the NES.

imported_Anonymous
July 21st, 2004, 02:21 AM
My bad i made a mistake it did play 16 bit games but had two b bit processors sorry for the slight problem

I'd hafta go with SNES. Although, NES and Atari are also super-cool. And I used to play the Gamegear all the time.

Also, do any of you guys own a Virtual Boy? Those things are weird, and give me a headache... But yeah, they weren't around for very long (I think they gave a lot of people headaches, so they stopped producing them), but I'd hafta say that's one of the coolest also, jsut because it's so freaky.

You feel like a game that messes with your mind? Try Polybius.

imported_jumpmanlives
July 21st, 2004, 04:12 AM
I used a LynX or whatever they're called b4 made by atari?? Colour long before competitors and was good.

imported_chordie leforge
July 21st, 2004, 04:51 AM
Not good, when you said that and I posted about polybius, I started to continue my long abandoned search for it. Just so happens that I stumbled upon the rom but a few hours ago. I played it. It is not as bad as the legends say but.... I dont know I think I am having a Placebo effect, I dont think it is the game but somehow I am scared that if it is, I am affected, now I cannot stop thinking about it. Am I caught under it's spell? I hope this does not halt my liking for video games. If any of you out there are searching for polybius, I suggest not trying too hard, because even if this is fake (which I'm sure it is) it still makes you feel wierd if you know the legends. Dont take my word for it. Ohhh well, topic hijacked. I just needed to get this out somewhere :p Wish me luck on not going crazy.

I'm sorry but the best system is gonna be Nintendo 64 ...XD [clicked other]
I know its old cause they dont make games for it anymore XD but man...it just rocked..actually im playing it right now ^____^ but if that doesnt count..then..um..Super Nintendo ^__^

imported_Sofa of Death
July 21st, 2004, 09:17 PM
nintendo 64 is not old enough to be considered old school... same with playstation (the original)

BTW: does anyone remember virtual boy? did'nt they only make 4 thousand of those? (this is what i have heard) and it had 12 games..... what a horrible system it was.... i'm gunna google it and see what i get...

imported_chordie leforge
July 21st, 2004, 10:01 PM
Yeah, I never got a virtual boy, It looked ok for its time, just marketing problems or they must have run outta cash.

nice to see SNES (the best one) is actually winning, mose people usually disagree with my opinions

imported_chordie leforge
July 23rd, 2004, 12:34 AM
Well, Nintendo basically pwned the early game market, and their best "old school" system is SNES. I think N64 did alot too but SNES pushed it all the way, and I'm not sure if I consider N64 old school just yet.

imported_wHat
July 23rd, 2004, 11:51 AM
Big Bulky cartridges :D

nah its not 'old skool' mainly because the expansion pack took it nearly up to the performance of dreamcast etc etc.

amega was far the best. Even tho it wasn' meant to be a games system, it was like one to me...

imported_chordie leforge
July 23rd, 2004, 05:58 PM

I miss my old original Nintendo. I mean, it doesn't get better than Chip and Dale, The Little Mermaid, Mario, Duck Hunt, Ninja Turtles, etc. and then on that stupid huge-afied hand held system my brothers both had (but not me  ) there was always Sonic the Hedgehog... ohh, the sweet blissful memories!

imported_chordie leforge
July 26th, 2004, 10:14 PM
Little Mermaid, Ninja turtles...... Another flashback of old school-grandjure. Yeah, another good NES thing, all my favorite cartoons had games on the NES, and that was back when games from TV or film franchises were acctually good. and the Simpson games :)
