This might be kind of touchy...but, where do you get your moral standards?
Are they self-imposed?
Do you beleive in God/a higher power?
Do you even have morals?
Or...do morals really even exist? Aren't all of our actions just part of the universal scheme of things?
Discuss.

My morals came from my parents initially, but over time I have changed them to what I think makes me a good person. My morals are constantly changing and being altered but I firmly believe that I will never believe in a higher power such as a God. Occasionally I'll try and look at myself from another person's view and see if I can change for the better, and I usually can. Right now I'm even changing bit by bit on the inside and I'm becoming more determined and thoughtful.

Ditto. I inherited my morals mostly from my parents, then when I was old enough, I made them up for myself (since my parents both went on a backstabbing spree after the divorce).

My parents basically told me what to think for most of my life, but then I figured out that they had really dumb ideas and began to discover my own ideas.

Mine change frequently. It really depends on the chicks I meet/date, until just recently I was an atheist, but then becaue I met some chick I became a christian. She left me, so now I'm atheist again. Well, I take that back. I do believe in a higher power, just not quite sure what it is. I believe everything has a scientific meaning behind it, when Jesus comes back to Earth I'll be like, "Well Damn. He does exist. Jesus Saves...and only takes 1/2 damage." And to an extent, I'm also a little racist, but thats because I have a bad history with African Americans, and Hispanics.

So you're an agnostic, then?
It seems the general consensus is "find out for yourself."

Morals come from your backround, parents, school, and friends. Your brain incorperates morals and translates them into a survival skill. Therefor every moral you really have is to proctect in some form or another. Depending where you live, morals change greatly. Also soctiety has formed to force morals upon you.

Morals are initially formed by other people and things around you, and after you get to an age at which you can reason them logically then they usually change, but with the initial morals as a springboard for figuring out what morals you think are correct and which ones you think are incorrect.

I don't think of things as "good" or "bad", I think of things as "what I can get away with/what I want to happen" and "what I don't want to happen/what I can't get away with" I guess we all think like this subconciously though. After all, If you saw a wallet with 1000 dollars in it would you rather return it or keep it?

I don't believe in good or bad the only thing I believe in are choices.
I came to my ideas by myself... definatly not thru my parents influence.

I believe that morality comes from a combination of our enviornment (parents) and instinctual choices. For some reason, every lifeform seeks to continue its species before almost anything else, except its own existance. It is for this reason that we, usually, will not just randomly kill other people (and those who do are feared, shunned, and punished, and usually have some sort of mental problems).

I got most of my morals from my parents, while I find some of them hard to stick to, ex. turn the other cheek, but it also depends on the people around you, what the social standard for correct behavior is, how far that can be stretched before it breaks, etc...

I dont believe in good or evil. In my world theres no god no satan just consequences for everything morals pretty much come from the consequences. Also from past experiences cause i met someone without morals once i hope that person falls off a cliff really.

mainly my parents, but as i got older i made my morals myself from things i experienced. thought about if i wanted that experience again, what got me there, how to ovoid it, what the other person did to get there if i did have the experience etc.

My morals are derived from my parents, my friends, and me. Those morals are heavily influenced by my Christian beliefs. So it's mostly religion I'd say.

My morals were largely influence by my parents and the course of my life. Alot of them are self imposed who were altered slightly over the years. They tell me what I find good or bad, what I can or can't do. They are judges who influence the choices I make.

My morals have changed so much over the years. Example the belief of god being the highest power known. I believe that but not the most highest; God is only a pawn, in this game we all call existance. There are things far more greater then he, Oblivion and Apocalpyse, then the highest and most powerful and understanding enities.
Eternity and Infinity which have been around since the beginning, and always shall be.
