Gotta have microsoft for apps though. But I agree. Mac is probally the best all around though however I don't really use it.

It's a bit hard to say one OS is just "better" than another as if they were all rated on a scale of 1-10. Gamers will usually go with Windows due to the compatibility (WINE and directX emulators on Linux have come a long way though and there's Linux-compatible games like UT2004).
If you're running a server or if price is a real issue then Linux is good, too. Windows fanboys will bitch that Linux is "not ready for the desktop" but that's bullshit. Ubuntu gives an easier install/interface for office users or grandmas who just want to send email.
Then there's OSX which gives one hell of a nice interface and is good for video editing. Never used it on my own rigs though, so I don't have that much experience with it.

I use windows and have no problem with it, only 2 protection programs i have are adaware and sygate... + those security updates windows releases.

you get viruses when you download shit like pr0n or go to hacker sites =P.

Like I said in a previous post, I only like 10%-15% of what Micosoft does. Another reason I am an Apple Geek, I like 85%-95% of what Apple does. As for Linux, I just consider is 1337 because its open source. :worship: Linus Torvalds had the balls to make Linux open source.

Well Linux is good for servers, because of security, though it isn't perfect. I don't use it, alot of things are compatible with Windows hence I use that.

As for the virusses etc. If you were someone who made virusses and you intend to do alot of damage would you choose to make a virus for Windows which is used on most computers or for Linux, something that only a "few" people use. If people would focus their attention to Linux chances are they'd find enough bugs and loopholes.


And if I'm wrong on that, then forget you even read it.
