Now that Democrats have their majority in US politics, reports are popping up that they're pushing for a staged withdraw from Iraq in 6 months. Dubya had it coming to him sooner or later, if he didn't get his party's ass handed to him in the mid-term the Democrats would have gotten him in the end.

FOCUS: Would you prefer Democrats forced a withdraw in six months or that they give Dubya two years to fix up some of the mess before withdrawing, and why?

Honestly, I'd like them to just fix shit up and get out. And I can definitely see a democrat in presidency...but nowadays there's a thin line between democrat//president. People just want power. USA's is Rome ready to crumble.

I voted for option A1, though I would have voted for both that and a Democrat as president in 2008 if I could have. The Iraq War has been a flop, exhausting the Iraqi people, the American people, and the American military. At least Saddam is set to die.

A two-year withdraw at the least; while I don't think the war should've ever been started, the fact is that it was, and to this point the US hasn't made enough headway to book it. It's probable that whenever we do pull out, there will be civil war or invasions by other countries anyway, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't at least try to make sure some kind of stability is in place.

If we can't do that within the next two to six years, I doubt we ever will.

6 months is definitely too early.

2 years...should be enough but who knows.

As for 08. I don't really see any formidable Democrats running for President. I don't think the idea of a women president, (Hillary Clinton) will take hold in America yet. I like Obama but he's not very experienced in politics for a president, and the republicans will pound him into the ground since he's admitted to doing coke and marijuana in his teens. Not to mention the fact his middle name is Hussein :P.

Historically speaking, Democrats have gotten us into wars, republicans get us out.

I hate to break it to you, but the democrats are about as progressive as Sadam Hussien. They're the same shit as the republicans with a different fan base.

As for the war, I vote we pull out ASAP. If we could pull out tomorrow I'd be at the polls casting my vote today for them to do so.
