Recently I helped an old woman cross the road, and when she thanked me my heart filled with a warm fuzzy feeling. So I post before you today to enlighten you and bring knowledge to your lives.
Socrates Said.
The things of this world are all imperfect copies of forms which exist externally somewhere; which are the true and only objects of knowledge, but can only be aprehended by direct contemplation of the mind, freed as far as possible from the confusing imperfectons of the physical world.
In other words those of you who free your mind and flow in self rightiousness will eventualy find ultimate knowledge, use Socrates' gift wisely my friends.

Har. Though nowadays if you did approach such a lady and asked to help her, she'd probably mace and/or knee you. With the exception of you, ofcourse. Did she look at you oddly when you asked to help?
Hard to do nice thing in an untrusting world caused by the few rude idiots.

Ever see the movie Pay It Forward with Helen Hunt, Haley Jo Osment and Kevin Spacey?
It was all about doing a good deed and telling that person to pay it forward, meaning to do a good deed for someone else. Pretty cool movie.
Being nice makes me feel good and I'm selfish so I like to be nice as much as I can. :)
(haha, that is a cool quote (it's mine, hands off))

If someone asked me to help them across the road, like an old lady, I would.....
But to be honest, in London, if you ask to help somone, they will assume you are up to no good and more than likely be frightened or something.....especially as me being a 15 year old 'youth' and all youths having a bad name for themselves due to those who drink on corners and attack people etc.....

Pity it would never work out in society today. Far to much suspicion.

Maybe we should give it a shot. You never know.
Next time I have the opportunity, I will help someone and tell them to pay it forward.

Dirty Chavs.
Summed up nicely imo....
Just wondering, any americans here....do you get the same problem over where you are? With 'Chavs' and youths standing on corners in groups smoking, drinking, shouting and ready to 'start' on anyone for just walking by.....

I'm from America. We don't really use the term chavs.
Normally the only people standing on the corners are drug dealers. We aren't allowed to drink outside.

They aren't so quick to start on you when they are on their own. It's the group mentality that they rely on.

To put it another way, would you happily walk up to your local shops when its dark, without fear of getting beaten up/mugged by drunk youths who think they are 'well ard' and will start a fight with anyone.....
Over here I couldnt do that....its barely safe during the day, and im in a generally safe area tbh.

Agreed, that is so true, just because they are in a group they act that way, on their own they are too cowardly to do anything.......
