To play CS:S maps on L4D, all you need is the game and GCFScape.


Step One:
Do all of the below:
open
/steam/steamapps/source materials.gcf
and extract the contents of
/hl2/materials/
to
steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead demo/hl2/materials

open
/steam/steamapps/source models.gcf
and extract the contents of
/hl2/models/
to
steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead demo/hl2/models

open
/steam/steamapps/counterstrike source shared.gcf
and extract the contents of
models (and) maps (and) materials
to steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead demo/hl2/models (or) maps (or) materials.


Step Two:
Open L4D
Open Console
type map, press a key, then backspace/scroll through maps.

Debating whether to wait until DVD copies come to town (usually about 4-6 days after release, as I'm in the middle of ____ing nowhere), or to download it on Steam... either way, I will have this game. Question is, when?

Yeah, Colt and I played for awhile on opening night and it can get insane at some points.
